Our primary partnership is with Africa New Life Ministries, a Rwanda based non-profit whose mission is to break the cycles of poverty through education, spiritual insight, and basic provisions. Fed By Bread supports a lunch program with an ANLM primary school in Kageyo (Kuh-jay-o). This area of Rwanda is populated by many returning Rwanda refugees who fled the country during the genocides. Many of these Rwandan families had reestablished their lives in surrounding countries, but were forced to relocate and many returned to Rwanda with little to nothing.
Kageyo B primary school educates more than 1200 students each day. Since our partnership began, we have seen the food program at Kageyo B go from feeding kids a cup of nutritional porridge to heaping bowls of beans, rice, and vegetables. We are thrilled to assist the lunch program at Kageyo and give these beautiful Rwandan kids the food they need to grow and live to their full potential.
In addition to giving to the lunch program, Fed by Bread sponsors three children through the year: Promence, Irene and Daniel. We love having a relationship with them and seeing the hope and future sponsorship brings to them and their family’s lives. Our hope is to see them all finish secondary school and go on to complete a college education.
Africa New Life
Africa New Life exists to break the cycle of poverty in Rwanda by providing education, spiritual insight and basic necessities to poor children and families. Since 2001, Africa New Life has shared the gospel using two hands: the hand of compassion—helping to meet basic needs and give hope for the future to those living in poverty in Rwanda—and the hand of evangelism—sharing the freedom and hope found in Christ
